Fifth Ave was calling my name. Can we talk about Saks for a second? Toronto will be getting our very own in the coming years, so I thought it wise to investigate. 10 FLOORS! 10 floors of fashion. After carefully going through the Moschino boutique - the sales associate asked if I was a reporter. I had so many questions going through my mind.. Is it all womenswear? If not, how do you organize it? I noticed some pieces are from past collections, do you hang on to them until they’re sold? At what point do you have to let go? Can I try stuff on for fun? I’m not buying anything. Do people really buy this stuff? — But someone must have slipped some truth serum into my PSL because I didn’t play along. Opportunity missed. Ah well, I’ll get ‘em next time.
After digesting all that fashion, I was thirsty for jazz & drinks. Fat Cat’s offered some stellar music to enjoy in the background of some fantastic conversations, great company, and tasty cider. The walk home was crisp and deserted. Such a stark difference from the hustle and bustle only a few hours earlier. Having the city to myself like that made the connection all that much more intimate. And then the night was over, just like that, my first day in NYC.
